Yes! Each tote box comes with combination locks and instructions for setting your own unique code. For your peace of mind, Urban Attic will never know or request your combination. Please note: we reserve the right to cut locks in the event of an emergency or if we suspect prohibited items are being stored. See our Terms of Service for details.

Yes. Each tote box is ensured up to $100 against loss, theft, fire, or mishandling. Please see our Terms of Service for full details

Certain items are prohibited, including perishables, hazardous materials, and valuables beyond our coverage limit. Please see our Terms of Service for the full list.

At this time, we’re only able to store items that fit inside our Urban Attic tote boxes. Our system is designed around standardized totes to ensure secure handling, efficient storage, and predictable pricing. That said, we’re actively exploring options for storing larger recreational items—so stay tuned for future updates.

Each tote box can hold up to 50 pounds. For the safety of our team, tote boxes over this limit cannot be picked up.

Our 27-gallon tote boxes measure 30.4” x 20.4” x 14.7” and weigh 7.1 pounds (including the lid).

Not yet. Right now we only offer 27-gallon tote boxes, but additional sizes are planned for 2026.

Unfortunately, no. To keep everything secure and organized, we only use Urban Attic tote boxes. Each Urban Attic tote box is inspected for durability, uniquely labeled, and tracked in our system—this ensures your belongings stay protected and easily managed.

Yes - so long as both addresses are within our service area.

Your items are stored in secure, temperature-controlled facilities right here in San Diego. We partner with trusted local storage providers to ensure your tote boxes are always kept safe, protected, and conveniently close to home.

Not yet. Due to our partnerships with local facilities, only Urban Attic employees have access to the storage facilities, thus we must pickup and deliver. Stay tuned, we're working to add this feature in 2026!
